Webinar on "Patent Protection Pathways in Central Europe and Overview of AI European Patents", part of the "IP Plus" series of international IP professional exchange activities, successfully held

On 5th November, "European Patent Protection Paths and AI European Patent Overview Webinar", part of the "IP Plus" series of international IP professional exchange activities, was successfully held online. The seminar was hosted by the Capital Intellectual Property Service Association and the Beijing (Zhongguancun) International Intellectual Property Service Hall, and organised by Mechatronics European Intellectual Property Office.

The seminar not only gained the attention of practitioners from the Association's members, IP service organisations and research institutes in Zhongguancun, but also attracted the participation of university and corporate members.

 The seminar consisted of three parts: firstly, Dr Laura Fe, European attorney-at-law of Murgitroyd's Munich office, introduced the national ways of obtaining patent protection in Europe other than the European Patent, including the recent update of the relevant data and cases of the European Unified Court of Justice (ECJ); secondly, Ms. Kate Syrtsova, European, UK and Irish patent attorney of Murgitroyd's Dublin office, introduced the latest developments of artificial intelligence in Europe, and introduced the latest developments of artificial intelligence in Europe. Ms. Kate Syrtsova, a European, UK and Irish Patent Attorney from Murgitroyd's Dublin office, introduced the current examination standards of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the European Patent Office, including the definition of AI and drafting, and shared the classic cases of AI, and made an in-depth analysis of the cases; Thirdly, Ms. Guo Yan, from the Murgitroyd's Dalian office, introduced that the firm attaches great importance to the cooperation with China and its development in Dalian, China. China and its work in Dalian, China, and answered questions from the participants together with two foreign lawyers.

The participants highly appreciated this activity and hoped that more similar seminars could be held in the future to enable enterprises to have a deeper understanding of the examination procedures of IPR applications in different countries, so as to escort enterprises to "go global".
