On 05 December, the webinar on US intellectual property was successfully held online as part of the "IP Plus" international intellectual property professional exchange series. The event was hosted by the Capital Intellectual Property Service Association and the Beijing (Zhongguancun) International Intellectual Property Service Hall, and organised by Demo Law Firm. The webinar was attended by members, IP service organisations, enterprises in Zhongguancun Park, research institutes and members of the public.

This IP webinar featured Louis Norwood (Woody) Jameson, Partner and Patrick D. McPherson, Head of the Patent Invalidation Team at Dermot & Partners, and Dr Li Qiang, Partner in the IP Practice Group, who provided an in-depth explanation of U.S. Patent Litigation, Invalidation, and Prosecution in the U.S. based on their own experiences.

 The seminar consisted of two parts. First, Mr. Jameson, a partner of Dermot & Partners, and Mr. McPherson, the managing partner of the Washington, D.C. office, presented an overview of U.S. patent litigation, inter parts review and patent protection, as well as U.S. intellectual property litigation cases, etc.; second, Dr. Li Qiang of Dermot & Partners, introduced the U.S. patent prosecution practice and answered questions from participants together with the two foreign attorneys. The second was Dr Li Qiang from Demao Law Firm, who introduced the practice of U.S. patent application and answered the questions of the participants with two foreign lawyers. In addition, current hot topics were discussed with the participants, especially those related to whether the relationship between China and the US would affect the patent litigation and application of Chinese enterprises in the US. During the Q&A period, the speakers gave patient and detailed answers to the questions raised by the participants. The participants highly appreciated this event and hoped that there would be more related activities for enterprises to better understand the markets of different countries.
