On 10th October, the Brazilian IP Webinar of the "IP Plus" International IP Professional Exchange Series was successfully held online. The event was hosted by the Capital Intellectual Property Service Association and Beijing (Zhongguancun) International Intellectual Property Service Hall, and organised by Licks Attorneys. People from member institutions, IP service organisations, enterprises in Zhongguancun Park, research institutes and the public participated in the IP webinar via ZOOM conference.

 The theme of the IPR webinar was "Brazilian Patent System Supports China's Competitive Advantage", which was presented by Mr. Otto Licks, founding partner of Licks Attorneys at Law, and Mr. João Lima, heads of patent practice in various fields, including Ms. Silvia Boechat, Ms. Ana Correa, and Mr. Lima, with their own experiences. Mr. Otto Licks, founding partner of LISI Law Firm, and Mr. Ana Correa and Mr. João Lima, heads of various patent practice areas including Ms. Silvia Boechat, Ms. Ana Correa and Mr. João Lima, introduced the opportunities for Chinese companies in Brazil and gave an in-depth explanation of the Brazilian patent system and patent application strategies. In addition, professional insights on patent examination were shared with the participants, including fast-track and highway patent examination at the Brazilian Patent Office, ICT patent examination, mechanical patent examination and design patent examination. The participants highly appreciated the event and hoped that there would be more relevant activities for enterprises to better understand the application examination procedures of intellectual property rights in different countries, so as to provide strong support for their risk management overseas.
