The seminar not only gained the attention of practitioners from member organisations, IP service organisations and research institutes in Zhongguancun, but also attracted representatives from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Tensil Pharmaceuticals Group, Baizi Divine Bio-technology Co Ltd, and CZT Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd, and other well-known pharmaceutical companies.

The seminar consisted of two parts: firstly, Dr. Matthias Stolmár, founding partner of Stolmár & Partner, introduced how applicants can optimise the layout of European patents after the implementation of the European Unified Court System and how to make use of the European national phase patents, etc.; and secondly, Dr. Denise Nestle-Nguyen, Patent and Trademark Attorney, gave a lecture on European Patent Layout and how to use the European national phase patents. Nguyen talked about the latest progress and case analysis of biomedical patent protection at the European Patent Office, and made an in-depth analysis of the latest cases. The participants highly appreciated this activity and hoped that more similar seminars could be held in the future to enable enterprises to have a deeper understanding of the examination procedures of IPR applications in different countries, so as to escort enterprises to "go global".
